First steps in experiencing abundant and eternal life
Know the Facts
- Everyone has sinned before a holy God and needs His forgiveness. This is everyone’s greatest problem. (Romans 3:23)
- Sin separates us from God – now and for eternity. (Romans 6:23)
- No one can save himself from sin or earn God’s forgiveness. (Romans 3:19-20)
- Christ Jesus is the only savior from sin, suffering and dying on the cross as a substitute in the sinner’s place. (1 Peter 2:24; Romans 5:6-8)
- God will receive in grace and forgiveness all those who come to Christ forsaking their sins and trusting Him as Savior. (Romans 10:9-10)
- We can become whole and experience the abundant God-filled life through Christ. (Romans 12:2)
Turn From Sin
Repent from your sins, trusting God to help you. Christ came to save you from sin. (Matthew 4:17; Romans 10:9-10)
Trust in Christ
Only Christ is able to save you—neither your goodness nor your own religious efforts are enough. He saves those who trust their souls to His keeping. (Romans 3:24-28)
What to do as a Christian
- Seek to learn the Bible’s message and live in accordance with it. (Matthew 4:4)
- Unite with and attend regularly a Bible believing church for fellowship and service. (Hebrews 10:25)
- Develop a life of prayer to God. Depend upon prayer. (Luke 18:1)
- Be obedient to Christ in all things. Witness to others for Him. (John 14:21; Matthew 19:32-33)
